New, highly sensitive advanced instruments have emerged providing tools that allow us to monitor our biophysical energy levels or “Energetic Fitness”.   One such instrument, the Gaseous Discharge Visualization (GDV) device provides visual confirmation of energetic balance and levels that many researchers are finding invaluable.

We are all familiar with “Physical Fitness” and even “Mental Fitness”, but perhaps equally important is “Energetic Fitness”.   Many theorize that Energetic Fitness is the basis for our entire biological physiology.

In his books, Energy Medicine, The Scientific Basis and Energy Medicine in Therapeutics and Human Performance, James Oschman, Ph.D., one of the foremost authorities of biophysics in the U.S., lecturing  around the world, describes an entirely new form of biology and, in so doing, an entirely new way of caring for that biologic system.  This new form of biology, or biophysics, has been and is currently being studied by researchers, medical facilities and universities around the world.   His interpretation of this new information has led us to better understand the function of exercise or movement to create or maintain energetic health allowing each of us the opportunity to realize our own optimal performance.

Richard Gerber, M.D. describes a different type of physiology than what is currently recognized, taught and accepted in western medicine in his book, Vibrational Medicine for the 21st Century- The Complete Guide to Energy Healing and Spiritual Transformation. .  He describes a human energy system that resonates and is affected by outside energies and the energetic signatures of everything we eat, drink or are exposed to.

In western biology, the atomic charges of various elements are taken into consideration, only to the extent of how specific atoms will, or will not bind with other atoms and eventually create molecules.  It is also acknowledged that each atom has its own frequency.  Other than the fact that the cells communicate through micro light bursts, any acknowledgment of the human energy system is dismissed.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, the study of medicine and the treating of patients have always been centered around bioenergetics and the body’s response to energy.  Although many in the west scoff at this theory, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has understood this principle for over 5,000 years.  In TCM the object is to reinforce the existing body by applying energy and energetic signatures.  Even herbal prescriptions are based upon the energetic signature of the herb or herbs, and how they affect the energy patterns of the person being treated.  It is important to understand that in China, many TCM doctors are paid to keep their clients healthy and balanced.  If they get sick, the doctor is not paid again until the client is again and healthy balanced.  This is a slightly different practice than in the U.S.A.  where closed practices are common, because the doctor has too many patients to treat.

European researchers from the Scandinavia to Eastern European countries have ventured farther into the realm of energetic sciences than researchers in the U.S., with decades of research behind them.

In the USA, we are just beginning to formally acknowledge and respect this area of science.  The rise in use of laser technologies along with light, sound and color spectrum therapies to enhance the quality of our lives, have touched most of us personally or someone that we know.

“Everything is energy.  Therefore, all fitness must ultimately proceed from the energetic and, it would seem reasonable, involve its optimal abundance, flow, balance, and harmony on every level of being.  This has been my experience, and of course, has been the basis of Eastern medical thought for millennia.”

Vibrations underlie virtually every aspect of nature.  The vibrations of atoms create sound and heat.  Light arises from the vibrations of electrons in an object.  When we say something is blue, what is really happening is that light has made the electrons within the object vibrate in a way that causes the emission of blue light (see Weisskopf’s 1968 article on how light interacts with matter).  At a basic level, all life depends upon molecules interacting through vibrating or oscillating energy field.  Virtually all that we know about living systems is based on the analysis of vibrations.

James L. Oschman, Ph.D., 2000    Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis

Energetic Fitness results when the body performs as an energy
symphony of myriad themes and counterpoint. Every collagen fiber, cell, tissue, organ, organ system, and organism should be orchestrated in a coherent resonance of synchronized life energies, structures, and functions for optimum health. This ultimate paragon of communications through vibratory energies harmonizes all systems to continuous synchrony-or energetic fitness.
